Fears of the debt crisis spreading, forcing the collapse of the euro and plunging the global economy into recession…   Ok, someone explain this to me. You are collectively the largest contributor to keeping this mechanism afloat. You sink. The mechanism has no independent sources of finance. Yet you borrow from it?

Learning

There were 28 people at our weekly Toastmasters meeting

Two outstanding prepared speeches, both icebreakers, an impromptu speech by a superbly entertaining toastmaster, a fabulous table topics session, & some very educative evaluators. Ok, that last part isn’t strictly true, since I was one of them. But it was a fantastic meeting nonetheless.

A key learning from today’s meeting was the intensity of the focus that some of the speakers had – they were very clear what they wanted out of Toastmasters, & they did achieve what they wanted. The icing on the cake was that, by their own admission, they enjoyed the process of learning, & the thrill they got out of speaking at the events they were forced to. Each one of them is back for more.

I found that the day’s events are usually lost in the busy-ness of life.

My decision to go off Facebook has created more time for at least a little reflection.

I will hopefully keep this up.

Fingers crossed.

Vatican’s Exorcist: Yoga Is Satanic

Loved the comment on this article:   “Let us compare the behavior of practitioners of the two religious practices (if yoga can be classified as religion – it is not) in question here. Catholic Church has practiced genocide against Jews, African and American Natives, suppression of women. It has blessed the conquest of all other cultures and wiped most of them out. It has suppressed science albeit unsuccessfully in the last 3-4 centuries. It has promoted blind faith. There are other items that should not be mentioned in mixed company.    What has yoga done? Breathing exercises! Focusing and controlling the mind. Listening to internal sounds. All this, it is claimed, lead to internal mental peace. There is not a whit of any of the other actions that the Church can be justly convicted for.   If it is Satan’s job to create mayhem on this planet, guess which of these doctrines most resemble him?”
